The Democratic Republic of Congo suffers from an image turned down by a democracy which has difficulty to set up in a stable way, because of war and all its drift (died, rapes, plunders, movements of population, etc.), and because of corruption.

Since the end the Belgian colonization, the country knew only rare periods of stability and after Mobutu's period turned out more difficult than planned: many persons with ideas, but little having the will to realize them really …

The Democratic Republic of Congo needs today that the population trusts its leaders, for it it would be necessary that themselves are of an ethics and a righteousness irreproachable, to lead this country towards a fate more glorious than its current present!

The Democratic Republic of Congo, which during colonial period exported food products towards the whole world, is importer today… And the population, which could indeed live on the work of the ground, gains twenty Euro centimes a day… Congo imports the fish while the country owns one of the most full of fish lakes of the world; rivers which irrigate all the country.

What thus need these people to produce primary foodstuffs? What is it necessary to make so that the Congoleses take care? We cannot bring alone a decision for the Congoleses, but they have to take back the taste in work and in its virtues; that with work they can notice that they will build more for them and then for the Democratic Republic of Congo than by remaining assisted which wait for their money sent by the Diaspora…

But when it will come to an end, who will feed all these populations? Who will clean up the environment? Who will guarantee the instruction and the formation of the new generations which will have to face the new stakes in the globalization?

Once again, the population of this country turns to the international community, turns its glances to the elections, the government... How do you want to walk on a fertile ground, a basement more than rich and to look of assistance somewhere else?

In Democratic Republic of Congo, it seems that few persons know the value of lands and agriculture because for a long time they were abandoned for the benefit of the drift from the land or of the family exploitation of the mines of diamond, gold or of coltan.

The successive governments promise, the people wait, waits again and again, as hands and feet tied up by these disproportionate promises, for an unfounded hope and for a reconversion in the idleness, the dances, the sports, etc. All this, as not to see the time passing, by waiting for the fulfillment of these promises which, regrettably succeed almost never because no government can claim to feed people about 60.000.0000 of the inhabitants.

The Congolese people would have lost all his dignity because he asks for the bread roll, because it shouts in the help in the slightest threat? Starving people become dull, but it would not be necessary instead of vegetating, turn outwards sleeves and go to cultivate lands and to take advantage afterward of the product of the surplus to help Congo to prosper?

It not would be time to take action, to imagine solutions suited to our everyday life, to answer to the challenges of our physical and economic environment and being also competitive on the market of the globalization?

Arms and consciousness, sacrifice and self-abnegation, audacity and economy are elements indispensable to the recovery of the Democratic Republic of Congo!

It has been now about three years since the De Vrienden van Congo association was born. On the base, it was an idea of some Congoleses and Belgians more worried and determined to participate in the efforts of reconstruction of the Democratic Republic of Congo!

Of this determination, it can notice that the balance sheet of the association is positive: except the fact this association has 15 employees of all the nationalities, it has in Congo 10 seasonal workers within the framework of the agricultural production on one of its 10 hectare properties situated in the municipality of Kimwenza. So, the Vrienden Van Congo has just sent a lot of 10.000 scientific books, 40 Pentium computers, and 15 printers to the Protestant University of Congo. One of the rare Congolese university institutions still worried about the formation of the futures executives.

We hope to count you also among ours.

The future, we have to realize it today!!!
